11. Create Your Own Sacred Space PDF Print Email

Creating sacred space is an art and a practice that can be developed easily. Ultimately a sacred space is a place where you are able to feel connected with your higher self and to a higher power greater than yourself. A safe space where you can express your feelings, be in silence, focus or rest your mind, and honor your life. There are sacred places all over the planet some created by nature, others by man. The important factor in creating your own sacred space is that you create it consciously and with deliberate intent. You may choose objects and materials to have around you that bring you closer to your heart and feelings. There are many things you can surround yourself with to help you connect to a deeper healing part of yourself.

Here is a short list:

Incense, candles, photographs of loved ones, special memories, spiritual teachers; symbols of nature (flowers, stones, water, leaves, sand, shells), essential oils that you love. You may create an open place on the floor when you can stretch and breath. You can have your space be completely empty and silent as long as it is your creation of what you feel is sacred.

This is your cherished space where you can be in gratitude and forgiveness, where you can be with your pain and suffering consciously with reverence and love.
